Certain medications cannot be mixed with alcohol, and some dietary restrictions can also prohibit booze. Even if you can’t have any alcohol this summer, you can still enjoy a healthy and delicious drink.

If you are being virtuous over the summer months, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun. Here are three of the best healthy summer mocktails that give you the poolside cocktail experience without the alcohol. These drinks are not only refreshing and hydrating – they are healthy and packed with vitamins and nutrients.

Read ahead for our favourite healthy summer mocktails. These three virgin options are so good that you won’t even notice that the booze is missing from the mix!

1. Strawberry And Basil Cooler

To get started with this elegant and tasty drink, choose a chunky glass, mason jar or even a jam jar in which to prepare your mocktail masterpiece. At the bottom of the glass, muddle (beat with a blunt tool) fresh strawberries. Add sugar (or you can use maple syrup, stevia or honey for extra virtue) until you have a puree. Now add a small handful of basil leaves (5-6 large leaves) to the strawberry mix and muddle with a shot of freshly squeezed lime juice.

You can make this drink as sharp or as sweet as you like – change the rations depending on your personal taste. Allow your muddled strawberries to marinade for a few minutes. When the basil has infused the other ingredients, top up the glass with ice, strawberry chunks and soda water for a perfect summertime spritz!

Thanks to the strawberries, this mocktail is high in vitamin C and anti-oxidants. This allows you to guiltlessly enjoy the taste while you look and feel your best.

2. Rose And Elderflower Fizz

Do you feel like you are missing out when the champagne corks start to pop? With an Elderflower Fizz, you’ll have a classy floral tipple that will keep you refreshed and satisfied all summer long. Start with an elegant champagne flute. Now add mint leaves, a splash of rosewater, elderflower cordial and stir. Top up the glass with cool sparkling mineral water, and then garnish with a rose petal. This is a sophisticated drink that will delight your senses. It is perfect for entertaining, or just for treating yourself.

Drinking rose water can improve the skin. It has anti-aging properties and can relieve digestion problems.

3. Passion fruit and Thyme Martini

If you are craving a ‘shaken not stirred’ martini, choose this tropical mocktail. Pop open your passion fruits and Sieve the pulp with lime juice. Pour this into a shaker with ice, and then add 100 ml of pineapple juice and shake. Strain and pour into a martini glass, and watch as the pineapple juice adds a layer of foam. Decorate the top of this drink with passion fruit seeds. Use a sprig of thyme as your stirrer for an aromatic and refreshing drink with a unique twist.

Passion fruit has high levels of vitamin C, while pineapple juice is packed with B-complex vitamins. This entire drink is low in calories and great for your skin, hair and nails. It tastes lovely as well!

With these lovely mocktails, you can spend the summer sipping delicious alcohol free drinks, all the while improving your health. Cheers!
