What is a Riser Recliner Chair?
Rise and recliner chairs are designed to allow people to sit down and stand up with minimal difficulty or strain. Operated with either a remote control or levers, the user can lie almost flat to snooze, sit upright to chat with a friend or recline a little to watch TV… there is a position for virtually every scenario.
Our bespoke mobility chairs are available in various fabulous upholsteries, fabrics, sizes, motor action types and backrest styles. Because they’re made-to-measure, your body will be supported in all the right places, especially the hard-working joints of the neck, spine, hips and knees. If your current chair is lumpy, uncomfortable or leaves you feeling cramped, achy, stiff and sore, then it’s time to invest in a new one.
What are the Benefits of a Riser Recliner Chair?
Being able to recline to different levels takes the pressure off certain parts of your body – for example, raising your feet is a great way to rejuvenate tired legs at the end of the day and help boost circulation. The various back styles (waterfall, lumber, button and more) have been created to help reduce symptoms of different physical conditions such as slipped discs, sciatica and general soreness. As an added bonus, they look great in any indoor setting, whether your preference is a country cottage, modern chic, or anything in between.
In the longer term, the adjustable positioning offered by rise and recline chairs can increase circulation, decrease fluid retention, alleviate varicose veins, leg ulcers and cellulitis, and aid recovery from surgery.
A riser recliner can also be of significant benefit for the partners of people with mobility problems, as it gives the affected individual more independence in their day to day life and reduces ones’ reliance on others for mobility related tasks.
How to Use a Recliner Chair
A good quality rise recliner chair will last for many years and can be used in any living room, lounge room or bedroom setting. They’re perfect for sitting for extended periods, as the remote control allows you to change position without having to move. Electric motors enable extremely precise positioning, as the foot and back rests can operate independently of each other.
Recliner chairs are also suitable for snoozing or napping in, and the superior comfort they provide can even make it easier to sleep – especially if you suffer from aches and pains.

Can sleeping in a recliner chair cause problems?
Sleep patterns change with age. Age UK highlights that sleep tends to become less deep and people wake up more often during the night or earlier in the morning as they grow older.
